LIVE MUSIC!

Hey Everyone...the good thing to know is there still
is a live country music scene here in the southland
and many people will always be tapping their
boots on the boards! As a musician myself, I've
seen and been a part of some of the most amazing
music and places; and I've met some of the greatest
people! It always strikes me how passionate people
are about a particular song, dance, or genre; and
the place music holds in the tapestry of their life.
I guess when you get right down to it good music
becomes a part of the world.
One of the coolest things about live music is that
you have real live human beings making those wonderful sounds
(or sometimes not so wonderful) to which you are
listening and good musicians cultivate the ability
to react emotionally and musically to whatever is going on in
the club or at the party. Thus, the music changes
and reacts to the people. It is a great dynamic
and something for which all musicians strive!
Remember that next time you are listening or
dancing to something that's pre-recorded. You can
react to it, but it cannot react to you.
A musician can.
As far as new places go, there's talk of
Cowboy Country opening again, Club Alondra
is making a go of it, CC Roadhouse
is going to rock and hip-hop, there's the new
Saddle Sore in Norco, Saddle Rack is re-opening
in San Jose, and a new Saddle Ranch is opening
at Universal City Walk with yes, you guessed it,
a mechanical bull.
