CCMA JUNE 2002 MEETING NOTES
We accomplished a lot at the last C.C.M.A. Board meeting.
We voted in a new Executive Director, Tom (Slim) Lattimer,
then changed his title to President, from now on the title for
the leader and hands on person in our organization will be
called President.
I'd like you to welcome him and get to know him.
email Address: stankay52@webtv.net, home phone 714-630-4334.
He comes to us with a lot of enthusiasm, knowledge, experience
and determination. I'm sure you'll all like him. He's a good all
around guy.
I'll still remain as the overall authority of the C.C.M.A. as the
C.E.O./Chairman of the Board.
Shirley Brown's Title has been changed from Treasurer to
C.F.O./ Chief Financial Officer.
Jim Fortner will remain as the C.C.M.A. Membership Coordinator.
Gerri Dickerson will remain as the C.C.M.A. Secretary.
These five positions above will encompass the officers and
the Board of Directors of the C.C.M.A.
Since we've become one organization, all the existing regions are
temporarily dismantled. We will hold only one Competition and
Award Show. There'll be no need for Regional Competitions
and Award Shows, either in the adult or youth divisions.
The Regional Director's title and position have been changed
to Regional Advisors.
The Regional Advisors will be responsible for having current
knowledge in their area, and to keep the board informed of any new
artists, bands, events or any business that may relate or be
an interest for the organization. Their most important duty is to bring
in new members and generally be informative to anyone with
questions. Some Regional Advisors will be a part of the Awards,
Committee, and may be asked to chair other committees.
They will work with the officers on events, and be the "eyes" and "ears"
for our organization. Other authority in representing the C.C.M.A.
will be given to them as needed.
The Regional Advisors will be asked their opinion as to the
ability, level of performance and talent pertaining to artists that
are nominated from their region.
Nomination ballots will be sent to all members, through
the email, web site and snail mail. The final decision to pick
the winners will still be decided by judges.
There will be six (6) nominees in each category instead of four (4).
More Regional Advisors will be needed. Every area throughout the
state of California should have a Regional Advisors representing
our organization. If you know of anyone who would be interested
in a Regional Advisors position please have them contact the
corporate office at 714-998-3330.
All C.C.M.A. events are now controlled by the officers as
mentioned above and the board of directors.
Any and all events, fund raisers of any kind produced and
promoted in the name of the C.C.M.A. must have prior written
approval by the board.
A state representative will be present at any/all events where the
C.C.M.A. name is used.
All funds collected in the name of the C.C.M.A., no matter what
kind of funds, must be given immediately to the C.F.O., and then
these funds will distributed if deemed necessary.
All past regional directors are asked to send all monies currently
in their treasury with a report documenting the balance to the
C.F.O. Shirley Brown. All checking, saving or any other accounts
opened by the regions in the name of the C.C.M.A. must be closed
ASAP.
After winning two years in a row, the artists will not be eligible
to enter in that category for another two years. They will not
be put into Hall of Fame. That privilege will only be reserved
for those inducted.
The C.C.M.A. logo's official colors are black and gold, instead
of red and yellow.
The youth division will be expanded to include bands, and adult
back up. All the member youths will qualify to compete in the
C.C.M.A. Youth Competition and Award Show.
The Board and I both realize that some of these changes
may be difficult to adjust to, but all agree that they certainly
are needed. Thank you all for your past support, and we look
forward to a continued relationship in the future.
Our Country Best to You.
The Board of Directors and the C.E.O.
